Disgruntled with his life as a labourer in Sydney, Australia, Danny Morgan (Rhys Ifans) takes off by tying a bunch of balloons to a deckchair, and ascending to the skies. His flight ends in the sleepy town of Clarence, where he unceremoniously lands in Glenda Lake's (Miranda Otto) garden. The naive townsfolk he encounters prove to be a grand source of inspiration to Danny, and he proceeds to teach them how to live life to the fullest; but has he left his former life behind him for good?
